I agree that it sounds like “jailer”, but I don’t think it’s strange. A bit dated, maybe. I think I heard every combination of those sounds in the early 2000s, including lots of Jaylas. (Kylie, Jaden, McKayla, Jaycee, Kelsey, Layla, etc.)
