[Opinions] Amidala
I met an 18 year old woman named Amidala the other day. I assume her name ties back to Star Wars' Padmé Amidala, although I didn't ask.WDYT?

It depends on how it's pronounced.

It has pretty sounds, but I find the Star Wars reference a bit tawdry, and I'm reminded of amygdala.

I immediately thought of amygdala. Not the worst body part to be named after, I suppose; I don't know the Star Wars reference so I don't know how to pronounce Amidala. aMIDala? AMiDAla? Something else? I don't find it appealing at all.

Don't really like it

I like it! Sounds pretty, cute, not too out there as fan names go.

I was briefly infatuated with that name after seeing the movie. I like it. In the way that I like names like Kylo and Merida - a "guilty pleasure." I think it's cool that someone is named Amidala. I would be fine with being named it. But I probably would not give it to a baby myself. It reminds me a little bit of "amygdala" (the brain structure named for resemblance to an almond), and Emidia (form of Emigdia).
