I’d rather Lydia than either Lydian or Lydiana.

Lydiana is like Liviana for me, extra and kinda unneeded but still okay as a name. I would prefer to be a Lydia to both, and Lydian seems more masculine… I like Lydian more, for a boy. If we’re talking for a girl, Lydiana I guess.

Lydian is Lillian with a cold.

I think Lydian would constantly be confused with Lilian. And I once met a Liddy which turned out to be a nn for Elizabeth! Frankly, I'd avoid the lot of them, unless I really wanted to use one or the other for family reasons, in which case I'd make it a mn.

I like a good elaboration every now and again, yes I think I could humor this idea
