Not a fan of either, but I slightly prefer Lester.
Don't like either, Chester is slightly better
They’re both terrible. There’s Chester the Molester and… Lester isn’t much better either.
I feel like I could warm up to Chester maybe because I like the sound of Cesare, and I find it OTT old-fashioned in the style of Grover or Elmer (both of which I am fond of), but still...it reminds me of Buster (very much a dog name to my mind) and sounds so much like Jester: I think that's what keeps me from liking it, probably partly because of a sleazy character association too.
Lester sounds creepy and always will IMV. I know people who have it as a surname, and I feel sorry for them.

I love Chester, it's such a great burnt orange colour and it's grumpy and cozy at the same time, my favourite! I suppose an issue is that it's a little one-dimensional because it's so cute. But I still love it.
Lester is ok, I don't hate it as much as other people. It's quirky and warm in its own way. But it can't hold a candle to Chester.

Lester is hideous and just had a horrible sound to it. Chester on the other hand, I can get behind that name. It’s friendly and cute for a little boy and strong and handsome for a grown man. We have friends with a little Chester and it’s so cute.
