As far as Jul- names go, my favourite is Julanne. I personally like Juli when it's soundalike to Julie, as a nickname for other Jul- names.
I think that if you spelled it Yuli, it would be more viable in the US. A lot of people would think to say "juh" for Juli. However, if you don't like the way the Y looks (I do, personally--reminds me of Yolei :D), that throws a wrench in that plan.
July has never really appealed to me, I'm afraid. I don't know why--I like word names a lot--but I just don't find it attractive in any way.
