i dislike it only because it reminds me of the abbreviation for catheter
Both makes me think of Catholicism.
It's way to British to feel at home on an American woman. British and middle-aged to elderly.
I'd rather just use Kathleen as the full name, or the nn Kitty or possibly Kat or even Kate in a pinch.
Also, cath is commonly shorthand for catheter and I've done a walkathon several times to benefit the "cardiac cath lab."

I don't like it. It seems too random. I think of catheters instead of Kathleen or Kathy.
