It is the 3rd Addams kid in the Addams Family Values (1993). It was a nod to the name that Pugsley almost received in the original series.
Charles Addams, creator of the Addams Family, originally wanted to call the Addams' son "Pubert," a play on the word "puberty," but references to sexual maturation was a bit too out there as a character name in 60s family tv.

Terrible because it looks like "puberty" but I prefer Rupert.

I think that, since the obvious nickname would be formed by adding -y, resulting in Puberty, it is best avoided.

Sounds like ‘puberty’. Horrible name, even for a pet.

there is no reason to compare a normal thing with a horrible name im not being rude when i do not mean to be rude but sorry for being off topic but most people go trough that and even thats happening to me, too! so there isnt a reason for it to sound like puberty.

Charles Addams came up with Pubert as a play off the word puberty. So not only does Pubert sound like puberty, but it originated as a puberty reference.

Please explain what something that looks like 'puberty', give or take a capital letter, could sound like which is not like 'puberty'. And if you can't, maybe thinking twice before posting something you can't substantiate would be a good idea next time.

okay and? the reason why i said that is because there is just no reason to compare a body thing with a horrible name but like it sounds like puberty because it just does and how i know all this information is because im going trough body changes so thats how i know all this information. sorry if i'm being rude.
