It sounds like an onomatopoeia, but not for anything pleasant.

Breck shampoo comes to mind as well as the Breck Girls - beautiful portraits of girls for their ads.

Breck is a very clipped sound. It makes me think of rocky precipice that abruptly cut off into a cliff.

I would prefer this as a male name myself. However, Breck, Brecken, Brecklynn, and Breckyn all turn up as girls' names in Colorado more than other state recently, probably because of the image of the ski resort named Breckenridge in that state.

Interesting! I checked and this boy’s parents met in Breckenridge, Colorado.

I know a woman named Breck. She has a brother named Gavin. I always thought her name was harsh sounding. But it suited her, and it's not too different from Brooke.

It’s terrible. Would be worse than Brock if Brock didn’t have the horrid Brock Turner association.

I knew a girl named Brecken. Super lovely, popular girl who was always nice. But every single class she would have to correct people how to say and spell her name. I think that would be the same case with Breck. People would assume it’s Brick.
My brother’s name is Brig and people call him Brick all the time.

I’m not a fan at all. I prefer my brother’s name, Brock, to Breck.
