[Opinions] Juchau UPDATE (First impressions only)
I asked everyone to guess the origin of the name Juchau.
It is actually not an Asian name, contrary to guesses. Surprisingly according to forebears.io this name is most common in English speaking countries and originated in England. I would have never known except I have an ancestor with the surname and was very confused for a second as I could see they were clearly English.
It’s not in the database and I can’t find a meaning anywhere. Other than stating it is originally from the British isles, no info is given. I did find an author in Australia bearing the surname who pronounced it “jew-COW” but I’m not sure if that pronunciation is widely used.

It's a name of French origin brought to England centuries ago by Huguenots.
This is enlightening— thank you!
