[Opinions] Millard and Willard
I was watching Singin in the Rain earlier and one of the actors in it was Millard Mitchell which then also got me thinking about Willard. What do you think of Millard and Willard?

Willard is awkward but fun in a frumpy way. I can imagine a bulldog named Willard or an old ramshackle house with iron gates and Ivy called Willard House.Millard makes me think of Milord, "my lord", which sounds pretentious. Millard sounds like the isolated child with the overprotective mom who insists he is too good to play with the neighbor kids.

Sorry, but I can’t say that I’m a fan of either name. My name is Will, short for William; I don’t think I’d like being “Willard”. The main reasoning behind this is just the sound, which I don’t care for. There’s nothing inherently wrong with either name, but I just have my opinions. Mitchell isn’t that bad, though.

I prefer Willard.

I’m sorry, but while I admire the meaning behind the name Willard, I can’t take it seriously - it was derived from Willihard. I’ve just got a juvenile mind, which is my problem I know.Millard has more promise, but I would prefer Miller. The other seems unnecessarily elaborate.

Can't say I love either of them, but I'd rather be Will, or perhaps even Willy, than Mill or (masculine) Milly.
