[Opinions] sisters Matylda and Sophie - From Poland to England
Wdyt? That "Y" is killing me. The parents are migrants from Poland to Engand so it must be why the "Y" happened, in Polish it's Matylda.

I like Matylda but I was born in Poland. I'm surprised that Sophie isn't Zofia, the Polish form.

My guess would be that Matylda was either born in Poland or when the parents still thought they'd eventually return. Sophie sounds like they decided to stay in England.I dislike both names. I've always disliked Matylda, it's so heavy. Sophie is ok but terribly bland and, in contrast to Matylda, almost weightless.

Matylda was born in England too so maybe they thought they would return but looks like they’re staying! I don’t like the names either.

I agree. Matilda & Sophie look much better. More balanced. Matylda might work in Poland, but in English speaking parts of the world, it just looks like another trendy 'Y' spelling.
