[Opinions] Celandine
What do you think of the name Celandine? Do you like it? How would you pronounce it?

I’d say “SEH-lann-deen”. Anyways, I think that Celandine is a gorgeous, sweet girl name.
SEH lan dien. That's what the plant sounds like, but people might well guess at SEH lan deen.
I find it long and unattractive. If I wanted a Cel- name, I'd go for Celia; if I wanted a Ce- name, then Cecily. And isn't celandine a weed?

It just doesn’t sound like a name to me.
I quite like Celandine, though it's certainly very different. Since I pronounce it "SEL-an-deen," the rhythm is similar to cellar door, which J.R.R. Tolkien himself called the most beautiful word in the English language (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_and_Welsh).
Independently of learning of this assertion, I once decided that - regardless of definition - the prettiest English word was... cellophane. Which also has a similar rhythm.
Celandine is a nice midpoint between these words - and also has a much more attractive definition (a bird).

Celandine is enchanting and sylvan. I love it! I pronounce it "SEHL-ən-deen."
Don't like it, pronounce cell an dine
