[Opinions] Winslow
Thoughts on Winslow for a girl? I think it’s so pretty and earthy (almost like willow) but want to get some feedback. Is it too out there or is it cute?

Doesn't work for a girl. It doesn't remind me of Willow, it just sounds like the kind of surname that would only work as a first name on a boy. It makes me think of the Phantom of the Paradise character (even though I haven't even seen that movie).

I’m sorry, but I just don’t care for the sound. I can appreciate the uniqueness that Winslow has, but I don’t like the “slow” part.

Well, I don't think it's worse than Harlow, Marlowe, or Murphy, which seem similar in style, and Winnie has been rising, too, so it seems on-trend for whatever that's worth. Plus the beginning sounds like Wednesday, which has been in pop culture recently. I prefer Winslow to Sloan, Fallon, Ainsley, Harper.Mainly, I think of landscape paintings (Winslow Homer) and muted colors when I hear it.

Very silly. It's a grizzled lighthouse keeper kind of name.

As a girl's given name, it's grotesque. Surnames as given names are generally both dull and unattractive, especially when applied to girls.

It’s pretty, I like that it means “friend’s hill”.

I think this name is kinda ugly. honestly I like uncommon names. Its just this name looks like another tryndleigh name.

Eh...no.

Just another lnfn, but this one lends itself to silly jokes of the 'Win slow, lose fast' variety which could get really annoying really quickly. There are better ways of achieving a daughter called Win or Winnie.

I’m not a huge fan of it as a name for a girl as my first thought is The Winslow Boy a play by Terence Rattigan written in the 1940s. I had to study it in detail for school when I was 11.It is a last name and I don’t like most last name first names. Though there are a few exceptions this isn’t one of them.
