Melba toast works for me. I've never had peach Melba but I bet it would work too.
As a name, ... no. It's like a joke name. Someone's crazy aunt or bizarre nosy neighbor.

There was/is a r&b singer called Melba Moore. She was all set to have her own TV sitcom, but the night it was supposed to premier, most regular programming was pre-empted because the space shuttle Challenger had blown up earlier that day; the show had to wait a few months, and it was not a success. (I only read about that the other day so it's fresh in my mind.)
