Its fine, prefer Robert.

Richard will always be among the names I consider for a hypothetical son, primarily for sentimental reasons. It was my grandpa's name, and I was very close to him. He went by Rich; I'd more likely use Richie / Ritchie as a nickname.

I like it very much. It doesn't work at all with our ln, so I'd never consider using it, but I'd be happy to see many more Richard people of all ages. I don't appreciate most of its nns; the ones I've known best have gone by Dicky and Ricky. I would hope to hear it without any shortening.

I think that Richard is a very handsome name, and I’m a little saddened that it’s uncommon now. I only know of two Richard’s my age; one goes by Richie, the other uses no nickname. I don’t like any nicknames for Richard, except for Rick and Ricky; I consider it for a son, if my great-uncle didn’t have this name (and went by Ricky, whereas I have a brother with a rhyming name to Rick). Overall, I’d say that Richard is a 10/10 name, of course without being called Dick.
