What are your thoughts on the first name Jono for a boy?

I think it's super duper cheesy. Nevertheless, it's workable as a nickname and feels kind of modern. I have a cousin/uncle/something called this, it's short for Jonathan.

Erm, seems like a rather silly nickname for a John-related name. Not a fan.

Hi!

It is similar to Gianni (diminutive of Giovanni) and Giona (Jonah).

Jono seems too informal in my opinion. Johnny is better.

I'd expect it to be a nickname, and I'd wonder if it would sound like Joe + No or Jon + Oh.

I'd guess Jon-o if it's short for John, Jonathan, etc. but Joe-no if it's short for Jonah?
