[Opinions] Re: Thoughts on Zinnia?
in reply to a message by princessjasmine
There was a Sharon Creech novel where the central character was named Zinnia, nicknamed Zinny.
I've thought it was kind of odd that certain plant names are deemed acceptable or even desirable - Lily, Rose, Fern, etc. - whereas others are less so. Then again, would I ever name a child Orchid or Tulip? Zinnia isn't quite as bad as the last two, but it still doesn't float my boat.
That said, it'll be interesting to see if Zinnia becomes more widely accepted in the future, as the name has recently debuted on the lowest regions of the popularity lists.
