Love the name Amara. It has a nice sound and a beautiful meaning.

Oh, yeah, I've noticed this name when I was searching for Ama- Amo- names. Amara seems to be loud, proud; it's hard to ignore kind of name. Reminds me of Tamara, Samara, Shamara, also, Frida, Cara.

Amara seems to be getting some love on the polls, so I don't think you're alone in this. That said, I like it, though I prefer Mara.
