Nice as a nickname, its short and simple.
Very sweet, yet sassy name. It always gives me 1920’s flapper vibes, as do Cleo and Zelda and I could imagine all three as sisters. Tessie and Tessa are also adorable.

I love it as a nick name, but I want it to be paired with a more formal long name. Not sure what that would be, though.
Love it. It's simple and sweet.
It's ok, I prefer Tessa.
Underrated! I love that is great in many languages and very spelling intuitive :)
I quite like Tess as a short-and-sweet first name, and in the past have vacillated between Tess and Tessa in terms of which I prefer. (I'm in Tess-mode, currently.) Normally, I don't care for nicknames-as-given-names, but I consider Tess part of the group of those nicknames that are different enough from their sources that they look like their own names (e.g. Sadie, Lola).
Tess also goes with just about anything, as a first or middle name.

Makes me think of the depressing Hardy novel.
Fine as a nn; would result in a lifetime of explanations if it was a stand-alone name. I'd love a Tessa daughter, but I don't think I'd ever call her Tess, though others might.
It's ok as a nn for Tessa
Very cute, though I prefer it as a middle name.
It sounds only a bit less frumpy and dumpy than Bess.
