As far as I know it's 100% unisex diminutive in Russia. Just like Zhenya.
In my experience, I've met a lot of Sashas who are both boys and girls. So, I definitely see this name as unisex.
But, as a standalone name, I think it better suits a girl. (Soft sound, -a ending, I can see why I'm leaning towards girl name)
For some reason, it gives me a French name vibe, even though Sacha is masculine in France according to BtN.
