I live in Devon (it's an English county) and I hate the name Devon with a passion.

Kevin is just average. I've known a ton of Kevins born later than the 70's so I don't think it's that dated. I'd be surprised to see it on an actual child now, but I was born in the 90's and there are a lot of Kevins my age as well as older ones. It's definitely a "just some guy" name, but most Kevins I've met are nice and I have generally good associations with it.

Devon is ok, but Devin is better if you don't want to be named after the place. (Also I'm a dumb American and I thought Devon was a city & just now found out it's a county.)

Both are okay for me. I've never met any Kevin in real life but it was associated with a cartoon character. Devon is alright for both gender.

They're both okay to me. Kevin is something I've only ever heard on people aged 60+. I know Devon is a place name (I've been there in England, and it's beautiful) however using it as a name is strange to me. Here, Devon is something that you eat, a lunch meat (I personally don't eat it, but I know people who do). And they'd inevitably get "Devo" as a nickname which is slang for devastated and I don't know why you'd want your nickname to mean that. There are probably people named Devon who live here anyway, I've just never met one of them.

Kevin is on the top of my most hated list. Devon is okay.

I think Kevin would be a great name for a cat or dog. Can't you just see it? It's such a laid back name, just a regular guy, good ol' Kevin.

Devon is pretty, I prefer that spelling. I like it for a girl, there's something poetic about it. Devin on the other hand sets my teeth on edge.

I like Devon okay for a gal. Not enough to put it on a shortlist. But I've met one, and thought it sounded a lot better IRL than it seemed in theory.
I don't care for Devin (m), nor Devon (m).
Kevin is too dated as a baby name rn, yeah. I have a good friend named Kevin who's 57 (it rhymes). It was like the Aiden of the 60s, apparently.
I've never been a fan of the name but it's not unpleasant. Devin is a bit more grating, to me. Also Gavin. These names give me a vague sensation like they're aggressive action words, "devving, kevving, and gavving." Devon doesn't, though, it's place-y and feminine to me.
