I'd assume Dava was a girl named after her grandfather (or some other relative) called David.
It also sounds vaguely nautical, it makes me think of waves and stormy seas.
Dava sounds like someone who tends to act serious without actually being an overly serious person. I'm picturing tall, somewhat pale skin, dark hair in a low ponytail, practical androgynous clothes in colors like navy, gray, and dark brown, etc., a fairly low voice, someone who's comfortable using serious and professional mannerisms most of the time (or at least wherever needed).
