[Opinions] Re: telegraph birth announcements
in reply to a message by Katie
I saw the tail-end of an item on TV news, BBC I think, which said that The Telegraph might be up for sale to someone from an Arab state. If it happens, I hope they don't drop the Birth Announcements!Good ones: singleton names and combos
Stella Penelope; Rory Peter James; Hugo Duncan; Cecily; Quentin Paul; Elspeth; Roderic; Juliet; Hector Alasdair Graham; Alice; Rosemary; Sally;
Victoria; David; Joy; Ruairi; Annabel; Philippa; Elizabeth; IsobelComments: Wouldn't Maeve Anne Victoria have been better? Clara Georgina Betty is so Telegraph! Daisy Peaches good grief -straight from the DNA Modification Laboratory. Rocky - forget George and Edward, all I hear is Frank N. Furter. Goldie Gray Hero, I can't even guess the gender, but I imagine someone who performed some amazing feat as a dashing young fair-haired person and is still admired and respected in middle age. Barney Bear is child abuse, as if one had given birth to a cartoon character. Sonny Percy Sidney must have tone-deaf parents. Delphi Daphne is almost funny - too much Greek, too many repeated sounds. Posy, as in, likely to pretend to be what one is not?
