[Opinions] Re: Dated Sib Set?
Alan and its variant spellings are not that uncommon on young boys today. Neil is definitely a grandfatherly sort of name, at least it is here in the US. In the same sibset with Alan, it definitely makes Alan feel older than it really is. Pauline is very old-ladyish. And Pansy thankfully never got much use in the US at all, and is an old-fashioned word for either an effeminate man, or just a wimp of either sex.
Pansy and Pauline sound like a pair of cartoon chickens or something. Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes!
