I don't like -lynn but I do like -lin.
Peterlin is interesting, I'd assume there's a story behind it. People are reacting like it's a trendy thing but to me the -lin ending for boys names sounds more historical (?)
The only thing is that I'd think Peterlin would sound more like one solid name if it was PEH-ter-lin instead of PEET-er-lin, because if the Peter part is just pronounced like the name Peter then it seems like less of one name and more like "a name plus an extra suffix".

Where's the emphasis placed? My bad taste is showing, because if it's PETER-lynn (as opposed to Peter-LYNN) then unfortunately I'm a fan...

Peter is fine on its own. I don't like Peta. Peterlin is still...so much like Peter that it doesn't sound feminine. Better than Peterlee, I suppose.

I've never understood the -lynn trend with baby names recently. I don't love adding it to names that already have that sound , but to names like Peter?That just looks like it's been tossed there by someone who wanted an "original"name but didn't want to do the work. I'm sorry to be such a hater but Peterlin is just a plain ugly name.

Awful. Peter is my son's name and I love it; tacking on a somewhat female ending does it no favours. In fact, it sounds more like a place name.

It's bad. Is the bearer male or female, though?

In any case, Petra or simply Peter would have been much better. Peterlin makes no sense.
