[Opinions] Sidonia
I've long admired Sidonia but balked at its proximity to Sedona, Arizona (and its rich-hippie connotations); however, if I pronounce Sidonia with three syllables ("si-DON-ya," the second syllable of which rhymes with "lone" or "cone"), the name sounds less like a place to me. What do you think? I admire its noble saintliness. Some combos:Sidonia Alice
Sidonia Helen
Sidonia Ruth
Sidonia Violet
Sidonia Amy
Sidonia Clare
Sidonia Clarice
Sidonia Gertrude
Sidonia Agnes
Sidonia Margaret
Sidonia Rachel
Sidonia Ruby
Sidonia Beryl
Sidonia Iris
Sidonia Mabel

I pronounce Sidonia the exact same way, except I pronounce the "nia" ending as "Nee-uh" (instead of "ya"). With your pronounciation, I enjoy every combination you made; they flow very wonderfully. However, with my own pronunciation, I like Sidonia Rachel, Sidonia Margaret, Sidonia Ruth, Sidonia Mabel, Sidonia Clare, and Sidonia Helen. As for my opinions about the name? I think it's very nice, as opposed to Sydney for a girl (even though, Sydney is a beautiful girl's name!).

I love the look of Sidonie, but it sounds like Sydney when I pronounce it. :(

I prefer Sidonie, Sid own we or sa doh nee

When I say it it's with a "see" and not a "sih", and I make the "o" syllable long so the "sid" and "nie" parts are very separate.

Hi!I like Sidonia! Here in Italy it is pronounced with long wovels: see-DOH-nya.It is very rare knowadays but still used.
I love its ethereal vibe. Of your combo I like:Sidonia Clare
Sidonia Clarice
Sidonia Ruby
Sidonia Beryl The others seems too "overused" to fit with it.Later I will suggest you something if you want :)

I've always loved the way this name sounds like a magical city. The most wonderful, fantastical, possibly cursed place ever. It would be a great name for a band, and the album art would be some kind of Tower of Babel-esque impossible cityscape dreamed up by the lovechild of Albrecht Dürer and Sant'Elia.Sidonia Iris is a bit clumsy for me to say, but I love the way Iris blends with Sidonia's verticality.Sidonia Margaret is also working for me, maybe because I associate Margaret with that same Dürer style. Crosshatched black lines and yellowed paper.

This name sounds like it would fit right in being in Sedona then! 😂 Not a fan. I think Sydney is better.

For me, Sydney is dated and bland in almost the same way that Alexis (f) is. I went to a fancy private college in the early 2010s with a bunch of (mostly Jewish) rich NYC girls named Sydney who did a lot of drugs and were kind of vapid.

I live near Sedona and you just described half the population there lol. You’re free to like Sidonia, but it does look like a frillier version of Sidnie or Sydney.
