Cool sibset. The names' styles suit each other. I didn't notice the "nic" similarity until you said it. I don't think it would be noticeable enough to matter, especially since a Dominic would more likely be called Dom than Nic. But since I've noticed it and do not personally care for Dominic, I would use or suggest the names for someone's sibset.

I like them together. Wouldn't have noticed the shared 'nic' thing, so I don't think it's too big of a deal. Funny enough, there are two women in my mother's friend group who have two teenaged sons named Nicholas and Dominic, who are friends from last I heard. They may be the only people with those names I know.

I think they go together great. In real life the shared nic is not a big deal, and I would barely notice it. Anyway there are other nicknames for both names.

I think the double nic spoils the sibset. If you could guarantee that they'd go by, say, Nico and Dom - if they were characters, for instance - then it would be OK, but in the real world you can't guarantee anything.

I would agree the sounds are too similar.

They go together almost too well: The set reminds me of the homophobic Italian-American boys I grew up with on Long Island (and before anyone jumps down my throat, I'm Italian-American on my dad's side). I dislike the set for that (admittedly very personal) reason.

Personally, I find the strong repetitive "nick" sounds in both names are too similar for siblings.

The issue will be if Dominic also wants to go by Nick. I know one who can't stand Dom and goes by Nick exclusively.

It's cute. same genre of names imo, and Dom and Nick are different.
