As is discussed in the column I just posted in Name Facts, Daphne is NOT an 18th century name in English speaking countries unless you are talking about slaves and their descendants in English speaking colonies in the Americas. :)
I looked at people born in the 1700s who lived in what is now the eastern US and didn't divide them beyond that.
