I am Polish and American. I like the history of both names but way overused. I wouldn't use either.

Unless speaking Polish, I prefer the name Peter!

Unless you are Polish I’d go with Peter. You could use Piotr as a middle name.

Unless you live in Poland, I would avoid Piotr and choose Peter. The two names are not pronounced the same.

I chose Peter! I would never have given my son a name that wasn't part of his family heritage, and Piotr certainly isn't.
