The sound is not great, and I can only think of the singer.

I don't really like this spelling, the association with Billie Eilish is too strong. I prefer Ailis.

It’s one of the cases where I wouldn’t anglicize, or maybe spell Ailish? I want to read Eilish as “eyelash.”

Saoirse Ronan brilliantly played Eilish Lacey in the film Brooklyn. In the film it's pronounced Aylish. It's lovely!

Maybe it’s just because I’m in Scotland but my first thought is Eilish (pronounced Aylish rather than Eyelish) McColgan. Eilish is a long distance runner who was the champion for 10,000 metres at the Commonwealth Games in 2022. Eilish also took silver for 5000 metres.

If it isn't reminding me of the singer Billie Eilish, it just kind of sounds like "eyelash".

It's the same for me too. When I think of “Eilish,” the first thing that comes to my mind is Billie Eilish.

It's Irish and should be spelled Éilís/Eilís so I'm not a fan of this phonetic variant.I also prefer Ailís (Alice) to Éilís (Elizabeth).

Not a fan of the "leesh", it's too nasal.
