Thoughts on Oswald?

I like Oswald because of a good friend whom I admired and liked enormously; he came to a sad end, far too young, and I'd never think about using his name. It is his alone. But I can still feel good about it.

I think of The Penguin before anything else, so the name is basically the equivalent of Casper or Barney to me. It's got oodles of cartoony personality. I like it!

I love it! It's so curmudgeonly.

I like it, but I'd give it time to simmer before it comes back.

Really don’t care for Oswald. It has an unpleasant sound and bad associations (Lee Oswald, Oswald Mosley).

My first thought is of Oswald Cobblepot "The Penguin" lolI think it's unattractive and old-fashioned in a bad way. You can't even get any good nicknames from it imo.

Love it, and the nickname Ozzy.

Don't like it at all, very old, and first thought Lee Harvey Oswald

Same here. Oswald falls in the same category as Adolph - bad associations. Oswin is cool and offers the Ossie or Ozzie nickname folks seem to like.

I prefer Oswin, Oscar and even Osgood.Oswald reminds me of the President Kennedy killer, Lee Harvey Oswald, so it's kind of tainted in my opinion. It's too bad because I like the ancient history behind it as well as the adorable nickname of Ossie/Ozzie.
