[Opinions] Thoughts on the name Shawna for a girl?
What are your thoughts on Shawna?

In Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Jennifer Grey's character, Jeanie, comes to mind. Jeanie was at the police station after being hauled in for making a false police call. She becomes smitten with a guy (Charlie Sheen) she meets there. When asked what her name is, she tells him her name is Jeanie but she goes by "Shawna."
Awful name but it brings a smile to my face thinking about that scene.
I actually always kinda liked it... retro 80's and earthy like Chloë said but not overtop and it's acceptable. Solid name overall.
It's okay, but definitely got a 1980s vibe as wel as a redneck vibe. Brandy and Shawna and Leanne, all done up in their big hair and rhinestone cowgirl outfits going to see Alabama at the state fair.
It's got an awkward yet earthy endearing quality. It's kind of tacky, but in such a nice warm way. Makes me think of a sun faded wooden porch swing, long late-summer grass, and old well worn trucks. It's very retro 70s or 80s Americana.
I love this for a girl, and it's a personal favorite.
Hi!I prefer Siobhán, Sinéad, Seána (Irish) and Sìne (Scottish).

I far prefer Seonaid, or if necessary, Shona.
