I like Nigel- not geeky-, but I prefer Neil or Niles or something like that :-)

Nigel Sirius is alright, but I prefer Nigel William, Nigel Roderick or maybe Nigel James.

I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

Nigel is a great name, I love it! I don't think of it as a geeky name. I don't particularly care for any of the middle names you chose for it though.

Nigel Lachlan or Nigel Wolf wouldn't be too bad though. Nigel Atticus and Nigel Alistair are nice as well.

Thinking of Nigel I automatically think of the show "The Nanny" so I picture a sweet British guy holding a duster. =)

I can't say that I like any of your middles names picked out. I like the suggested Nigel Atticus the best.

Nigel Wolverine feels a bit like a contradiction in terms to me.

...All right, not terribly so, because when I hear Nigel, I think of Number One from Codename: Kids Next Door. So they're definitely both superhero names, but Nigey's just...not quite so hardcore as Wolverine, you know?

I think that Nigel Sirius is the closest to working, but then I'm reminded of Phineas Nigellus, of course. :) Nigel feels heavy next to the flighty, thin Phoenix, and it feels even heavier next to the biggest darned mountain in the world.

So none of these combos does it for me. I suggest that you set something less fanciful next to Nigel, honestly. Something with gravitas wouldn't sound so utterly ridiculous to me. Nigel Atticus would work, for example, because unlike Wolverine, Atticus is a name I can take seriously. (Nothing wrong with unserious middle names--you're talking to someone who likes Chickadee and Hawkeye, after all--but sometimes they just don't work with the first names, and this is one of those times.) Nigel Oliver, Nigel Gareth, Nigel Finnian. The most fanciful I'd be willing to get is Nigel Wolf, but it sounds suspiciously similar to Nero Wolfe, so take care. ;)

I would like to suggest Nigel Everett. It sort of feels like Nigel Everest, but makes more sense to me.

I love Nigel Finnian, which I have never thought about. I always kept Finnian as a first name but never thought about it as a middle name. I really like Nigel Finnian. Thanks!
