[Opinions] Names for Angels
What would you name an angel character?NOT actual angel names like Michael or Raphael. No 'classic' angel names and no pun names. Some original names would be great. What sounds like an angelic name to you or has weird angel (think biblically accurate) vibes? What would you make a guardian angel, say a person who has died and been made a guardian in heaven to watch over people on Earth. Thank you.

Ahava, Alizar, Ariel, Aviel, Oriel, Oved might work as angel names. A lot of Tolkien's elf names sound sort of angelic as well.A Biblically accurate angel that doesn't appear in the Bible is an oxymoron. In the Bible, angels are not people who have died. They are there own type(s) of beings. If a person who died did become an angel, they would probably keep their names. But, if you are making up your own religion, you can come up with whatever naming etiquette you want.
Byron, Eden, Quintessence, other things like those...I have a pretty strong association between angelic figures and tragedy or idyllicism...paradise lost and all that...so that's a factor plus those could be people I know (so it doesn't matter to me whether the character is actually tragic or idyllic or not, they sound real but maybe a little ironic).ETA: Idk if that's what you want, but "biblically accurate but not actually accurate" doesn't give me a real vibe. If I was trying for mystical-historical(?), my 1st thought is that maybe I would look at rare medieval Judeo-Spanish names like Orovida for inspiration.

The medieval church thought in terms of millions of angels, which presupposes vast amounts of names in use and presumably more waiting to be used. And that means that, whatever name you may choose, you can't go wrong. Also, if people can be promoted to the status of guardian angel, post mortem, surely they would retain their Earth names? Even if their parents had been inspired to name them, say, Judas or Lilith, or some other biblical name with a negative aura.
