As alcoholic beverage names go, this one's tasty but feels somehow as dated as Brandy or Sherry.
I would assume that this is a Black name, and as I 've mentioned before, those names seem to become dated even faster than other names.

The spelling is confusing, the sound is unattractive, and it comes off as pushy. Brandy and Sherry have been established as names longer; maybe that's why they don't sound strange to my ears. Margarita sounds fancy and somewhat pushy, but still pretty. Burgundy sounds and looks unpleasant but is at least reminiscent of a nice color. I cannot find a silver lining in Daiquiri, but it gets points for standing out.
I've met several people named Sherry and Brandy but only one Bacardi.
Hi!
Actually the cocktail took its name from Daiquirí (a location in Cuba of Taino etymology) so it can be considered a place name.
