[Opinions] Re: Sandrine, Tiffany, Katia and others

Sakura and Touya are both said to be flower names, with Sakura being cherry blossoms and Touya being peach blossoms (this is made a point in the manga). I'm not sure why the French dub decided on Thomas... such a normal name next to Sakura. I'd have looked into other flower names - or otherwise nature names - and used one of them. Perhaps Aster. At least Tori is more "off beat" than Thomas.
I think Dominique works so much better than Aidan! I do not think Aidan fits at all for Sakura's dad. On the other hand, Nathalie and Natasha are both great options for her mother. If I were to name her dad, I'd go for an F- name. Frank, Florian or Fabian perhaps.
I think both Tiffany and Madison are both perfect for Tomoyo and I can see her mother wearing both Samantha and Suzanne well. I side more with Samantha, but I have no favourite between Tiffany and Madison
Lionel is a Choice lmao I do not at all see him wearing Lionel. I think it's especially jarring because his battle outfit is so traditionally Chinese that "Lionel" hurts the ears. That and Lionel is such a name that says "weak rich boy who gets upset if his $8000 shoes are scuffed". Changing Syaoran Li's name to Li Showron for the English dub soes at least make more sense. It's easy to see him wearing Li, after all
I have no real preference how Meilin(g)s name is written, but I do appreciate that the English dub decided to keep Meilin as her name. Not sure about her English surname though. Also she does to me at least give off Stephanie vibes, so at least it's not as bad as Lionel.
Yukito has such twink energy that I do not think Julian fits and we (me and my friends) have discussed in the past that he'd suit Simon more. Mathieu is about as bad as Julian. Star is such a bad surname though, but because of [spoilers] it could at least hint that the name is fabricated.
Like I said, I think his Japanese name is foreshadowing, but this forshadowing is NEVER used in the series. It's a manga-only thing. With this in mind, I suppose I see Anthony working, but I've always hated Eli. Moon as a surname works only because it could be a suggestion that it's a fabricated name, the same as Julian Star.
I don't particularly mind that Ruby / Nakuru's names were just changed into one. I don't think she really needs an alias the same as [spoiler] character. Though, I wish she had a Chinese name like Yue for it to be consistant, but the point might be the use of "Moon" is exotic to a Japanese person's ears so it does not sound all that weird as a surname. I personally think Samantha works a lot better than Ruby on her. Because she is technically non-binary who uses she/her pronouns and wears skirts because she thinks they are cute, it might be more appropriate to call her just Sam instead, but I don't think that fits as well. In that case, Sahsa might have been better.
Mizuki's forename is less important than her surname as we hear her surname the most, so on that, I think MacKenzie works better than Moreau, but both are ultimately fine. Not keen on Layla though. Katia is only okay. I'd have gone with calling her Samantha actually
I think Chelsea is better than Sandrine, but I'd have gone more with Cassie or Chloe
Sonia is a fine name for Rika. Rita never felt right to me.
Nadine is also fine, as is Nikki
I'm not sure I like Yvan? But it's better than Zachary
Marie is also a fine name and Maggie is only okay
Before now, I had never heard of Sandrine or Katia. I think both names are nice, but I can't help but keep on reading Sandrine as "sardine"
