[Opinions] Re: if you had to change your name...

Years ago, I almost converted (or reverted, as they say) to Islam, so I have actually thought about this!
I was never able to really find a satisfying answer. First of all, it's not really required to pick a new name upon conversion, but I just liked to think about it because it was fun.
I always wanted to find a name that meant "lightning" or "Storm" because the first time I read the Qur'an was during an absolutely insane lightning storm - just constant lighting with no thunder or rain, it was eerie and thrilling. But I wasn't able to find a name that had that meaning that pleased me. Nur means light, but it's so short, I found it underwhelming.
Then I thought about finding a name that was "similar to" my current name - that is common among reverts, sort of finding the Arabic version of your name or something with the same initial sound. Khalila might have worked, and probably would have been my pick if I had kept going. I also liked that it meant "friend", which is sweet.
If I had just picked an Arabic name I liked, I thought Lujayn was adorable, and had a fun meaning. Also Fidha (or Fidda), which has the same meaning of "silver".
