I just wanted to counter some of the previous commenters and say that Harper is not at all unique in receiving nasty, strongly negative comments on this site. Pretty much EVERY name I have searched to look at rankings and comments has a series of very unpleasant negative comments mixed in with neutral or positive ones. I noticed recently, after a few years of absence from the site, that there has been some collective effort to downvote all these nasty comments, so they typically only appear when you scroll to the bottom of the comments list. I do get the feeling that this is a problem specific to this site, and some name discussion forums have a much more positive culture generally, like nameberry. I also get the feeling that a lot of these nasty comments were written by kids or teens. Sometimes they're just completely arbitrary things like "this name just sounds hideous." Even the most classic, popular, well-liked names have nasty comments. Of course no name will be liked by everyone, but I do find this sad and unfortunate! I hate to think of kids seeing nasty comments about their own names and feeling sad or ashamed, without the benefit of this broader adult perspective.
