Galaxy Rose seems psychedelic but in the most generic way possible.

Golden Bear made me think of "goldbears" gummy bears plus Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Gospel is interesting. Happiness and Harmonia seem ok/nice.

I like Halcyon as a GP but less since someone here mentioned it's a drug.

Hyde Colter, Hemlock Ganymede, Huxten, Hunt-Ealee, Jaisyx, Jekilynne, Jrexlyn, Joycton give me anxiety.

Hustle seems sad.

Italy Venice seems overkill but even so, also backwards.

Irwynn seems neat as a girl's name, and Juniper is cute with it.

Some state names work fine, but Illinois has always reminded me of "ill annoy"...

There is a nymph in Greek mythology whose name in some languages is written Jynx which is close to Jinx(she is called Iynx in English). In this case I bet Jinx is a boy. Like people naming their sons Memphis not realizing it is also the name of a Greek nymph.

I like Halcyon. Rumer Godden used it for a female character in The Peacock Spring and that's my first association. The character was called Hal.

Someone's illiteracy is showing. Jettison means to discard. Literally, to throw overboard from a ship.

And Golden Bear was the golfer Jack Nicklaus's nickname. Some journalist came up with it as an alternative to Fat jack and Whale Boy, which he was being called at the time, during his early career.

Golden Bear was probably deliberate. DH's ex-brother-in-law was quite a good amateur golfer with huge admiration for Gary Player, who was the best South African golfer of all time, and insisted on naming their son Gary after him. Now an adult, Gary plays a little polite golf but prefers mountain biking: luckily for them both, his father now lives in New Zealand.

I have a cousin who was named Hollis after Hollis Stacy (a female American golfer), and I always liked her name...it's more interesting than her siblings' names; she never played golf, but her brother did...

Still, Golden Bear seems ridiculous (and I usually like word names!), even more so if it's deliberately after the media NN.

True! Though I much prefer Gareth. And, what an extraordinary reason for nicknaming someone: golf commentators must be cautious or courteous to avoid the usual style of nning, which is to identify and use an unusual feature ...

True. And what an astonishing reason for nicknaming anyone. Couldn't have happened to Gary Player, who has been an advocate for health and exercise all his long life. I do prefer Gareth, though!
