YaëlMaëlI know the umlauts can look fancy, but they have a purpose in French. It indicates that the accented vowel must be pronounced distinctly from the vowel that precedes it. Like a pause. The two vowels are not pronounced as a single sound.
Ae names are some of my favourites! I particularly like Aelia, Aella, Astraea, Phaedra, Cadfael and Ismael from the ones you mentioned.
Other ones I like: Dae-Jaun, Dae-Jung, Dae-Seong, Dasoda-hae, Fae, Hanaé, Jae, Quantae, Raphael, Richae, Saela (Sæla), Saeed, Vae
Is Saela like Selah? I love Korean names.(:
Saela is one of my favourites! It’s SIE-la
I have a character in novel called Astraea. I love that name.
I like Aeronwen and Astraea. When it's at the beginning of a name I find it harder to pronounce for some reason, but I don't mind it elsewhere. There's also
Aeronwy
Laelia
Gaël
Phinnaeus
Aelia and Astraea are pretty. I don't typically like the way that Ae looks, not sure why. I think Ai and Ay are better, but I guess it depends on the pronunciation of certain names, and whether or not there are other clunky vowels.
