Ending the Decade: 1979
Flip a coin to determine what has happened to the family in the last 7 years. If you don't have a coin: https://coinflipgenerator.com/
Heads:
P1 and P2 have split up/divorced. They've both recoupled/remarried and gained a stepchild over the course of the decade.
**P1**
SO: FN must be 3 syllables. MN is optional and your choice. LN must have same or very similar meaning to P1's. Example: If P1's LN means "black" and new spouse's LN means "dark," that is fine. If P1's LN has no known or certain meaning, then new spouse's LN must begin with the same letter.
P1's StepC: FN and MN must begin with either Q, V, X, Y, or Z. LN is your choice. Of course, LN may be same as either P1, SO, or it could be completely different.
**P2**
SO: Initials must be BSW or FZP.
P2's StepC: FN should have love or love-related meaning, MN must be monosyllabic, LN your choice. Of course, LN may be same as either P2, their SO, or it could be completely different.
Tails:
P1 and P2 have had 3 more children over the course of the decade.
DD [b1973]: FN cannot be in the top 500 names of 1973. MN is optional and your choice.
DD [b1975]: FN must be taken from one of the top songs of 1975 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_Year-End_Hot_100_singles_of_1975). This could be a name/word taken from the title, from the lyrics, or could be the name of the artist/band. MN is optional and your choice.
DS [b1979]: FN must be in the top 100 names of 1979 but less than top 50. MN is optional and your choice.

In 1973, the Galilei family welcomed Matilda. Adelaide found herself balancing motherhood and a growing passion for community arts, occasionally volunteering at the local gallery. Achille was granted tenure and published a book on ethics in classical thought, earning him growing respect among colleagues.
Thomas, now thriving in school, became an avid reader and started building models of ancient ruins. Alexandra, still Adelaide's shadow, began crafting little paper dioramas and insisted on exhibiting them in the living room.
In 1974, Achille took a sabbatical in the summer, and the family briefly returned to Florence to visit his aging mother.
In, 1975 Helen was born. The household was increasingly lively, with Adelaide often saying it felt like running a small commune. Thomas asked to learn Latin like Papa, which led to Sunday morning lessons with Achille in the study.
In 1976, Achille's book was translated into Italian and used in a few university courses abroad. He was invited to give a guest lecture in Bologna but declined to stay with the family. Adelaide began organizing children's art workshops.

Felix and Astrid have had three more children, a further two daughters and their first son. Astrid won the coin toss to name their third child, choosing a name she found beautiful with an admirable meaning. Felix has developed an interest in Roman history and was rather attached to calling her Antonia, which became a middle name instead. For the fourth child they took inspiration from the radio, naming her after the female half of the duo who were constantly playing. Felix also suggested her middle name, after the girl from Fleetwood Mac. Finally their son arrived at the end of the decade and Felix was able to let his fascination with emperors guide his hand over the birth certificate. He hopes his son will be a great man.

Renee and Colin divorced when it became obvious that Renee had no interest in him. He confronted her about it, demanding to know if there was another man, and she reluctantly admitted to him that it was a woman she was in love with. She confided in him that she'd tried and tried to be sexually attracted to him, but it grew harder and harder, especially when she started seeing a woman behind his back. It took Colin a little off guard at first, though the more he thought on it, the more it made their entire relationship make more sense.
Ultimately, the divorce was amicable, Renee keeping Brouchard as her last name out of ease and for the kids' sake. She moved in with her girlfriend, Cisqua Perrine, and Cisqua's daughter, Amorae, who was the product of a one night stand that Cisqua had when grieving the loss of her husband, a good man who had died far too young. Amorae and Clover have become besties, even if they don't fully understand the nature of their mothers' relationship.
Shortly after the divorce, Colin met single mother and recent divorcee herself, Elle Barthélémon. They allowed their relationship to blossom slowly, only really getting together as more than friends in 1978. From there, it moved quickly and they were married before the end of the year.
