[Opinions] Re: Autumn & Winter for boys
in reply to a message by Ani
I think Autumn is fine on a girl. Winter shouldn't bother me as much as it does (though it's better than Wyntur, one of which I have met). Neither sound good on boys, in my opinion. And Bloom, I'm sorry, sounds complete ridiculous as a name.I am fully aware that my immediate dislike is based on preconceived notions about turning non-gendered words into gendered names. But I'm sorry, I just don't like these names.

That's okay! As for the gender aspect, I don't think words belong to one gender or another. Worth mentioning I can't see myself using these names on real children. To me, a lot of word names give a cool futuristic vibe that I find really fun.(:
I completely agree, re: gender and words. I fully recognize the silliness in the fact that I hear a name like Autumn or Summer or something and automatically hear it as feminine name, when seasons are... seasons. It doesn't change that that's my impression though.Agree with the futuristic vibe. I could definitely see a guy hero in a sci fi franchise named Winter or Bloom. I just don't like them on real kids.
Pardon me, I think I simply read your original response wrong and went to elaborate on it. Don't worry, completely get where you're coming from and respect your opinion. Thanks for interacting!
