[Opinions] Re: Autumn & Winter for boys
in reply to a message by Ani
I think Autumn is fine on a girl. Winter shouldn't bother me as much as it does (though it's better than Wyntur, one of which I have met). Neither sound good on boys, in my opinion. And Bloom, I'm sorry, sounds complete ridiculous as a name.
I am fully aware that my immediate dislike is based on preconceived notions about turning non-gendered words into gendered names. But I'm sorry, I just don't like these names.

That's okay! As for the gender aspect, I don't think words belong to one gender or another. Worth mentioning I can't see myself using these names on real children. To me, a lot of word names give a cool futuristic vibe that I find really fun.(:
I completely agree, re: gender and words. I fully recognize the silliness in the fact that I hear a name like Autumn or Summer or something and automatically hear it as feminine name, when seasons are... seasons.
It doesn't change that that's my impression though.
Agree with the futuristic vibe. I could definitely see a guy hero in a sci fi franchise named Winter or Bloom. I just don't like them on real kids.

Pardon me, I think I simply read your original response wrong and went to elaborate on it. Don't worry, completely get where you're coming from and respect your opinion. Thanks for interacting!
