Help[Opinions] Felicia - how do you say it?
So I have a colleague whose name is Felicia but rather than say it fuh-LEE-shuh, she says it as "fuh-LISH-uh". It's very hard hard for me to shift my way of saying her name, I have to think about it every time before I say it because she's the first Felicia I've encountered who says it this way.
How about you guys? How do you say Felicia? Have you heard it said multiple ways before?

I've never heard of "Feh-LISH-uh" being used, and I'm not a fan. However, I do love the pronunciations "Feh-LEE-shuh" and "Feh-LEE-see-uh;" it's a very beautiful name, that I'd call a daughter.

I usually hear fuh-LEE-sha, but fuh-LEE-see-yah wouldn't surprise me. Fuh-LISH-uh is a first for me, though.
For me it's either Feh-LEE-shuh or something like feh-LEE-see-ah.

As a Spanish-speaker, I've encountered it as feh-LEE-sya, although it's not common in my country. In English, only as fə-LEE-shə, never as fə-LEE-see-ə.
I say feh-LEE-cha. I'm not sure I can understand the difference between fuh-LEE-shuh and fuh-LISH-uh as a non native speaker but I think I'd say fuh-LISH-uh?

I'm with your colleague: fuh-LISH-uh all the way. I've only ever heard that version, but I haven't met that many Felicia people!
That's absolutely wild to me! Do you mind me asking the general area where you hear it this way? Even Felicia's on tv say it lee rather than lish, and the Felicias I've know (aside from this one) all said it the other way too. These Felicias are from IL, WI, MO, IA, FL, OR, CA, and WA. And two in the UK.

I'm sure you could ask a Felicia! People enjoy talking about their names, and she'd be happy to tell you.

I say it fil-ee-sha.
I've run into this with the name Alisha, Elisha or Alicia a lot in my life, because I grew up with many of those. For Felicia, I would say fuh-LEE-sha, just like I would say ah-LEE-sha for Alicia/Alisha, but there were a good number of people who would correct me and say "it's LISH-a". I think it was maybe influenced by the large number of Trishas and Tricias that were around at the same time - they of course were always TRISH-uh, never TREE-sha or anything like that.
That's a good point! It is very odd how we pronounce Patricia/Tricia differently from Felicia or Alicia.

There are no specifics on the names page here, of how we do it in Denmark, but it corresponds with how they pronounce it in Sweden, I'll go with that one.
