[Facts] Usage of the name Lynn
Extremely random question, I won't bore you with the specifics as to why I need to know this. Does anybody know how much, if at all, the name Lynn was used for boys in Germany between 1830 and 1870? I can't find anything on it.

Though it is hard to prove the absence of something, I'd say, no, it wasn't used in Germany in the early 19th century. If it was used, it was very rare and probably only in a small region of Germany. There is an example of a German given name essentially only known in one small village in Bavaria, see Edigna for more information, so I cannot completely exclude this case.
Unless it has a different origin in Germany, I'd say not likely used. In the US Lynn started getting used as a first name from the transferred use of the surnames Lin, Linn, Lynn, which are both from Irish and Welsh surnames meaning lake. Linn Boyd (1800 - 1859) was an American politician who may have popularized it (also spelt Lynn a lot in newspapers). He was named after his Irish mother's maiden name.
