[Opinions] Arabella
The new Harry Potter cast just got released! Hermione Grander will be played by Arabella Stanton.
While I'm happy and excited, I realized that Arabella might jump up in name popularity. I hope not- Arabella is an old favorite that I hope to use some day. My hope is that it will remain low in the US. Currently it's ranked at #206, so relatively popular.
Thoughts?

I find it really shrill and unlikeable in real life. I love it as a historical name, it's so refreshing to find an Arabella among all the Marys and Margarets.
It's cute, frilly and rolls off the tongue. I would use it in real life. I also love Annabelle, Arabel and Orabella.
My cousin just named his daughter Aribella. Ivanka Trump also used it.
I think it might get a bit trendy, but not overly so.
K, just looked at the stats and saw how it's climbing - it's going to crack the top 100 soon.

It's a nice alternative to Isabella
I think it's sweet
I don't like Bella names, and Arabella would probably be confused with Annabella. Arabel sounds OK but looks terrible; Arabelle, perhaps? But I still don't like it. Lovely meaning, though!
I'm curious what it means!
...click it? Arabella

I'm not really a fan of the Bella/Belle/Bel names. They just seem too over the top and frilly. I've never cared for Isabel/Isabelle either.
I agree with you for the most part! I dislike Annabelle and other Bella/Belle/Bel names. Arabella feels like a good balance just because of the "r" sound.
Meh, it's fine, better than Annabella I suppose. I don't really care for it.
(And don't get me started on the Harry Potter TV series... every time I think she can't possibly dig herself further in my estimation, she just goes further.)

I understand that.
Out of curiosity... who, Arabella Stanton? The little girl playing Hermione?
I think the idea of the new show is to remake the books in a more truthful way. They cut a lot out of details in the original movies, so they want to dig deeper into the original material.

Oh, no, sorry! Nothing against Arabella Stanton, I was referring to J. K. Rowling, especially re: her newest anti-trans quest.
It’s never been my style. I like Isabel.
I like Arabella. I've seen it pop up in media here and there, but with a franchise like HP, I expect it will get a lot of exposure.
