Similar to RoxStar, I don't like the -b ending, especially -cob. It sounds horrible to me. It doesn't help that every single Jacob I have ever known (more than 5 at least) have been rough and mean - bullies essentially. So I really don't like Jacob at all, but Jake is okay in my books.

I like it. It’s a classic boys name that never seems to go completely out of style.

I do like Jake; it's friendly and cheerful and a bit less of a chopping sound than Jack, which I also like.
