[Opinions] Yolanda
How do you feel about the name Yolanda? It's one of my favorite names. It means "violet flower" and is associated with beauty, modesty, and grace. Any middle name ideas? Thanks

I like the association with the flower. Yolanda has a distinguished sound and a pretty look on paper, but, unfortunately, it's dated in my country.

I really like Yolanda because the meaning is very beautiful and also associated with the flower and color violet.
I want to like Yolanda, it seems like a name I would like, but I just don't like it. There's something about the -anda sound that bugs me.
I like it a lot. It feels joyfully eccentric. I know violets are associated with modesty but Yolanda is a very loud and proud sort of name to me, which is why I like it so much.

I'm sorry, not one of my favorites :(.
Love it!
I think it's a fun name, bright and lively (and not modest at all!) but not one I'd want for myself or to give.
In the US, Yolanda is mainly considered a name for black women, and as such it peaked and then faded away very fast.
However, Wikipedia tells me that in the 1940s and 1950s, there was a popular ballroom dancing duo on TV and such called Yolanda and Fabio. They were white.

I quite like it. Wouldn't use it myself, but wouldn't reject it either. I prefer the -a ending, becuse it makes the pronunciation obvious.
I love the meaning. Violets are my daughters' birth flower. As for the name itself, I associate it with a 50-something accountant. Not a negative association per se, but I find it hard to imagine on a little one.
