Well I have a cousin (female) named Jessica and everyone calls her Jessie, I think it can go both ways with me, but I actually prefer Jesse for a boy and Jessa or Jeska for a girl.

NB: I would use Jessie as a nn for Jessica, my name is Cassie and its not short for Cassandra or anything and I ALWAYS have to tell people and it gets really annoying, just a thought. ;)
