[Opinions] WDYT of Naima?
A girl on one season of "America's Next Top Model" had this name, and I thought she had an incredible exotic beauty. She pronounced it "nye-EE-mah" (first syllable rhymes with sky). I only like it this way, not NAY-mah as I saw posted below. WDYT of Naima?

I think it is actually prn. na-EEM-a and I HAVE seen the show. It's sort of like Naomi to me.Its okay I guess but a little bit modely now.

I went to school with with a Muslim girl called Naima, she pronounced it as you prefer. I always thought it was pretty, she had a friend called Saheema (sah-HEE-ma), which I though was nice as well.

I think it's a nice name...not my fave, but not bad. the original arabic is pron. NAH-ih-mah however, which I prefer to both of the given pronunciations. (the ih is a glottal stop.)

I know it has some pretty cool history......Namely, that not only did John Coltrane marry a Naima, but that he also wrote a very cool jazz piece called "Naima."However, all I can think of is ANTM's Naima, who was one of the stupidest, most boring, blah-de-blah people ever. I wanted to stab myself in the eyes every time her "My Life as a Cover Girl" spots came on during the next season. :( So I don't really like it.Array

"Yes," said Laura.A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having.

Its avarage for me. Nothing special. Well, a little above avarage.
