[Opinions] Coco?
Thoughts on Colette nn Coco? My brother is Cole and I love the name Coco, but I'm just not sure I feel comfortable with not giving a child options with such an unusual first name? Thoughts?

Coco is fine for a pet, but I dislike it for a person. It's ok as a nickname for Colette or Cosette though.

It's OK. I don't really like it. My first choice for a nn for Colette would be Cole or Ette/Etta. I do know a Colette nn Coco, though.

I know an adorable little girl whose name is Colette NN Coco. It defiintely works as a NN. Colette isn't really my style, but it's not a bad name either.

I have a secret liking for the nickname Coco. It's just so cute!Colette is really not something I like, though.I love Bear's suggestion of Nicola nn Coco. However, PLEASE don't use Coco as the full name.

Colette is lovely, I also like Cosette but that's irrelivant, Coco is cute too. I don't think the name is too odd that the girl would want to have a nn her entire life. However, maybe Etta, Lita, or Lottie could be used as nn's. Do not be afraid that your life will end; rather, be afraid that it will never begin at all

Although I can understand how someone else could like it, I personally don't care for Colette. It reminds me of colitis and colic. I also don't care for Coco but I think it's a reasonable nn for Colette and see problem using it as such.I do like Cosette though. I'm funny like that.

I love it, just love it! I've thought myself of using Colette nn Coco. So cute! Just not Coco as a given name like Coco Arquette-that's pretty awful. :)

I agree. I think Coco is cute, as long as it's a nn. Colette is another favorite of mine, so I see nothing wrong with Colette, nn Coco. It's especially appropriate to use Colette (from Nicolette) if your brother's name is Cole (from Nicholas.) Nicola is another pretty option as a full name.Go for it.

Nicola is very pretty, unfortunately Nicola and Nicholas are off limits as DH's aunt & uncle had an infant die and his name was Nicholas. Besides, I fear the dreaded Nikki nn.

Nicola nn Coco is adorable.Colette is just a tad boring, imo. I think Nicola would honour your brother, have the nn Coco, and still be refreshing.

In my opinion, no. Colette is beautiful and if she liked the nn Coco then it would be fine. Cole is also a good name, but again, Coco in and of itself would be a little bit weird. (I know a dog named Coco, so maybe that has something to do with it.) ;-)

I can't stand Colette for personal reasons, but I think it would be very nice to honour your brother that way.And I think Coco is very cute. I like it. :)Array
